ENACT Drama Therapy Method Fundamentals Part 1:

For Drama Therapists, Teaching Artists, and Mental Health Professionals:

The ENACT Fundamentals Part I is intended for Drama Therapists, Mental Health Professionals and Teaching artists and provides alternative route training hours for: Creative Drama, Dramatherapy with Specific Populations, Theatre for Conflict Resolution, Theatre in Education, and Therapeutic Theatre. Participants will learn practical tools that they can incorporate immediately into their work with students and clients.

DAY 1: (3 Hours)

1pm: Welcome and Introduction

1:15- Basic ENACT Drama Therapy principles

• Based on attachment theory

1:45pm: Unison Theater Games

2pm: 15 Minute Break

2:15pm: Overview of Trauma Symptoms and Introduction to Defenses and  Behavioral costumes3:15pm: Interpersonal Games

3:30pm: Individual Theater Games

DAY 2: (3 Hours)

1pm: Theater Game Warm-ups (Three phases)

• Breakout Group Practice Session

2pm: 15 Minute Break

2:15pm: Distancing Methods and Introduction to Role-Play

3:15pm: Inner Monologues: Breakout Groups

3:45pn: Inner Monologue Demonstration and Closure
